Mexican Olive (Cordia boissieri)
This is an outstanding small ornamental tree that blooms with a profusion of large funnel-shaped white flowers in mid-Summer. Blooms turn into green, olive-like fruit which is reported to be mildly intoxicating.The plant is best grown in the region from San Antonio south as it is not freeze hardy in cold winters.
Mexican Olive is deer-resistant.
