Esperanza/Yellow Bells (Tecoma stans var. angustata)
Originally from the Trans-Pecos mountains of west Texas, this selection of Esperanza is better suited for Central Texas than the varieties usually found in area nurseries. It is much more drought and cold tolerant and will keep its leaves on down to the mid 20's. Although the flower color and blooming season is similar, the plant is identified by its narrower, more incised leaves and shorter overall height. Esperanza is deer-resistant.
