Lindheimer Silk Tassel (Garrya lindheimeri) Lindheimer Silk Tassel (Garrya lindheimeri)

One of our few truly evergreen shrubs, the Silk Tassel is an excellent replacement for Red Tip Photinia and Ligustrum in the landscape. It is an outstanding performer in shady situations and is easily pruned to shape for hedges. Plants are sexed, with females producing an abundance of creamy white berries that turn dark blue in the Fall. The fruit is a favorite of migratory birds.Silk Tassel is at home in limestone/caliche substrates and is extremely drought tolerant. Pick a site with good drainage as this shrub doesn't like wet feet.

LIndheimer Silk Tassel is completely deer proof.
