Palmetto (Sabal minor) This trunkless, native palm thrives in full to part shade. It lends a tropical aspect to almost any setting. Pametto provides excellent cover for small ground feeding birds who relish the blue/black fruit. The plant is very drought and cold tolerant. Palmetto is deer-resistant.
