Fragrant Mimosa (Mimosa borealis)

This very striking shrub features delicate foilage and puffs of very fragrant pink flowers every Spring. Native to the Hill Country, Fragrant Mimosa is a dependable performer in shallow caliche soils or rocky hillsides. Watch out for the catclaw thorns that give the long wiry stems sticking power. This feature makes it ideal for attractively blocking access to private areas, bedroom windows, etc. Despite the thorny nature, the plant is easily controlled, as it is not invasive and maintains a compact form.

Fragrant Mimosa is deer-resistant.
