Creek Plum (Prunus rivularis)

Creek Plum (Prunus rivularis)

Madrone Nursery's Creek Plum selection is a thicket-forming small tree that has some of the tastiest, grape-size plums that we have found. We discovered these gems along the roadside in Gillespie county and have propagated them for their showy blooms and prolific fruit production. Not only is the tree an attractive addition to the Spring landscape, but its dense habit provides a haven for small birds and offers an abundance of desirable food for wildlife in late June to mid-July. The plums also make an excellent jam or jelly but are just good eating right off the tree.

This is another one that needs protection from deer to become established.
