| American Beautyberry (Callicarpa americana)
This attractive shrub deserves much wider use in the landscape but it prefers a location that gets dependable moisture. It is one of the most desirable plants for attracting migratory songbirds, providing a showy, stacked display of nutritious berries each Fall. The wild form sports bright purple fruit, but a white-berried cultivar is available. The flowers are insignificant. American Beautyberry is deer-resistant.
