Snake Herb (Dyschoriste linearis)
This attractive groundcover is found in a variety of soil types throughout the state - from sand to clay. It is a stellar performer in sun or light shade situations. In Spring, the plant bursts forth with a continuous display of 1/2"- 3/4" lavender purple blooms that continue until the weather turns cold. Snake Herb fills dull flowerbeds with dependable color when other plants are struggling in the heat of our Texas summers. The plant is quite drought tolerant and spreads by stolonizing under the ground. Snake Herb is deer-resistant.
