Nimbewill (Muhlenbergia schreberi cult. "Rio Blanco") This tough muhly is an excellent alternative to our usual turfgrass choices. Nimbewill takes full sun up to 50% shade and provides a soft blue-green flowing texture, making it the ideal "canvas" for meadow plantings. Each leaf has a distinctive triangular shape that catches the light to add extra visual depth. The Madrone Nursery cultivar, "Rio Blanco", covers larger areas by stolonizing under the ground. Its height is variable depending on the amount of shade and availability of water. The plant is extremely drought tolerant and is an excellent choice for erosion control.
