Gulf Muhly (Muhlenbergia capillaris)

Found in the sandy and gumbo soils of east and coastal Texas, this popular Muhly grass is now widely seen in the nursery trade. Gulf Muhly has finely-textured dark green leaves that contrast nicely with the hazy pink inflorescence that floats above the foilage from mid-October to frost.

Gulf Muhly is striking in borders and mass plantings. It performs best with irregular irrigation.
