Lizard's-Tail (Saururus cernuus) This "primitive" dicot is common on the Atlantic piedmont and Gulf Coast plains. From May to October, long nodding spikes of richly fragrant flowers appear above the foilage. The pure white flowers are tiny but thousands cover the exotic looking blooms. The attractive tropical-looking foilage is a bonus. Lizard's-Tail is excellent in or around ponds. It grows rapidly from rhizomes to quickly fill an area. Lizard's-Tail is deer resistant. |
