Sharene's Story
- Owner/ Horse in Training
I have had my Lusitano
mare, Peralta, with Jeanne for three months. When we arrived at MadCap Farm,
I had lost a lot of confidence in my riding ability and my partnership with my sensitive horse. Jeanne methodically analyzed
our partnership and developed a comprehensive and thorough training plan which addressed my weaknesses and strengths as a
rider, and training deficiencies in my mare. My mare has relaxed to a degree I did not believe was possible. Jeanne allowed
Peralta to express her personality while guiding her training. She has done this quietly and without confrontations. Jeanne
is uncommonly kind and intuitive with horses and they respond.
One of the things I appreciate
most about Jeanne’s training methods is that she makes it easy for
me to intellectually absorb complicated information while astride a horse. I have had my share of instructors who bark too
many disjointed commands. I am so excited about the upcoming show season and have no doubt that my mare and I will continue
to thrive under Jeanne’s expert training and care.

Kim's Story - MadCap Farm
Student
I also have GOT to tell you about
today. I have a horse named Pistol (appropriately named) that I haven't been able to ride in a touch over 2 years. He was
deemed un-rideable by the vast majority of people. My last instructor managed to ride him calmly once, but no one else. A
boy used to come over that was too rough for my taste, and would saddle him up and basically rough him through the process,
run him at top speed up and down the field until he was sweating his weight in .... sweat, and basically leave him sore as
heck the next day. It wasn't at all a good training method so I stopped it. Pistol remained seemingly neurotic, and it seemed
like no matter how much I fooled with him he just wouldn't improve...
UNTILLLL YOU CAME INTO THE PICTURE!
My confidence is up so much and you've taught me so much about strong position, and I've been learning so much about energy
and feel that all of this combined just made today the BEST DAY OF MY LIFE! I came home, worked with him with a lead rope
for about half an hour, quietly had him allowing me to even rub him with the blanket and saddle, saddle him up, and GAAAAASP
- RIDE HIM. He used to rear and bolt, and if you dismounted, he would leap sideways... today he was perfect. I just kept working
with the feeling until I knew he was calm enough and trusted me and it was perfect. I rode him in a halter with lead rope
reins, nothing in his mouth, and he was quieter and more controlled and collected than I have EVER seen him!!!!
ANNND SO I'd like to thank you a MILLION
for contributing HEAVILY to the happiest day of my life!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THANK YOU!!!!!!

Kelly's Story - MadCap Farm Student
When I began riding as an adult begginer I tried many places, when I found Jeanne
Blackwell my search was over. Jeanne was able to "diagnose" my problems Immediately. She was able to correct the
technical probelems as wall as instill the confidence that I needed to become a better rdier. She can calm the most
nervous rider, her style of teaching is exceptional. She cares about her riders and wants them to enjoy riding.
The mental discipline that she has taught me extends into all areas of my life not only riding. I thank her for that.
PS- Jeanne Blackwell is better than PROZAC!
