With the tastes of the Dutch and English layered upon a rich cultural heritage of the Zulu and Xhosa, South Africa has been canning beer longer than almost any other african country and certainly has canned more beer than any other african country. Dominated by South African Breweries for decades, the rich variety of cans is fun to collect.

"Gebrou Vir Biermanne" is how the back panel

of this Whitbread Keg can starts and here is where I start. This can is "MB4 19707/209".

Bockman Lager by Biermarkt Internationaal S.A.

in Silverton, Pretoria and while it was carefully brewed to be cheaper, it didn't seem to last long.

This two sided can has the same label as its

friend to the left. It is numbered "MB4 19707/211"

Here is the back panel of the can to the left,

the signature dates it to February of 1970. The can has "MB4 19707/204".

"330 Years of Master Brewing..." back panel

is on this Whitbread Gold Crest Lager numbered "MB 19707/208"

I am not sure what was in this can,

but being from Colorado I enjoy this Cowboy's rootin-tootin leap!
