Harp Lessons

Marian maintains an active private studio where she teaches students of all ages. With a strong background in classical, orchestral, Celtic, contemporary, and medieval music, she is a great resource for her students, and always includes practical music theory as a component in her lessons. Private lessons are usually one hour long.

Principal Harpist for the Federal Way Symphony, Marian was for many years the harp instructor at Pacific Lutheran University. She earned a harp performance degree from the University of Washington and then pursued further study at the Cleveland Institute of Music where she also performed in the Medieval Performance Ensemble.

Introductory harp class from 5:00 to 6:00pm next Sunday, June 28th and also on July 12th 2009

This class is good for beginners and those who have been away from the harp and want to be reminded about basic technical details. You may want to stay and observe the ensemble section to follow. There may be some opportunities for you to play, especially if you read music.

Potluck and sight reading to follow class for current students. We'll play Triptic dance. If you don't have the music you can play the C and F accompaniment or read the melody part.

I expect to end around 7:30. Cost will be $15.00.

If this is fun, I'd like to do this every month. Let me know if you are coming so that I can have the harps ready.

The studio is located north of the University of Washington in Seattle.
