Samples of Retrospective and Recent Work

BRIEF RESUME

My traditional academic education included five years of art school majoring in paintings, followed by six years in the Academy of Fine Arts in Sofia, Bulgaria, graduating in mural paintings. My work has been exhibited at a personal show and at national art exhibitions in Sofia, Prague, Bratislava, Moscow, Petersburg and Hamburg. All work created at this time was purchased for presidential residencies, major art collections and hotel complexes. In addition to my involvement with the activity of the Bulgarian Union of Artists where I was the chairman of the Mosaic group, I had received national prizes for my artistic work.

I escaped communist Bulgaria and in 1975 came to this country.

Being trained also in art conservation, for twenty years, from 1983 to 2003, I worked full time at the J.P. Getty Museum as an associate art conservator for the Department of Greek and Roman Antiquities, traveled abroad for lecturing and published extensively about my projects.

During the last several years I have been working on compositions for children's ambient. My goal is to provide images that create peaceful and harmonious environment.
