Each batch is unique because of the addition of organically grown herbs which have been dried, cut and sifted, sometimes added at the end of the soap making process, just prior to pouring the soap into molds, and sometimes infused into the olive oil months prior to producing the soap. I like to use lavender and rosemary as do many other soap-makers but I also like to experiment with herbs and ingredients that are not used by other soap-makers such as dried orange peel and ground cloves. Some herbs are used for creating colors or swirling patterns, some are used to create textures in the finished bars and some are infused into the oils to incorporate their herbal benefits into the soaps. My soaps do not contain dyes, perfumes, fragrance oils or essential oils. Except for the scents of the various herbs, these soaps are "unscented". If soap-making were my sole economic enterprise, I would produce a steady supply of fixed "varieties" of my herbal goat milk soaps. But soap-making is my relaxation, a sideline to my full-time occupation: cheese-making. Therefore, the herbal "varieties" of soap available will be constantly changing according to where the creative process has led me. Each bar will be at least 4 ounces but may be randomly shaped, resembling rustic soaps of past ages. In addition to rustic bars, two molded, shapes are also available: the Celtic knot and little Goddesses (a.k.a. little Willys). By ordering an "Herbal Goat Milk Soap" you may receive something different each time you order but each bar will come with a description of the soap, the herbs it contains and the benefit of those herbs and the best use of that bar (ie. facial, body, or hand). Call me or send an email if you have more questions about what is available at the time you are thinking of ordering. |
