2/19	Snowboarding Siera/Tahoe with Jeff Peters and son JD	Fresh pow pow! Lots a' glades.
2/20	Siera - day two. Jim Robertson (MKS Portland OR) joins us.	No fresh, but no ice either. Untracked in the trees.
2/21	Full day at Heavenly with Dave Gibson and Jim Roberston.	Good times. Thanks for the lift to the airport bus Jim!
3/6	West Dennis windsurfing 5.0 and JP 270 with PK, Jerry, Suzy, Ken, and Freestyle.	Warm enough, but foggy and fluky. Jackknifed the trailer; bent the tounge...doh!
3/20	Boarded at Mt Sunapee's Slushfest 2004 w/ Eric, Chris, Jerry, Fritz, and Barry.	Barry and I got our money's worth in the pond-skimming event. Jerry and Eric miss the whole point and stay dry. Snowboarding will resume when my boots dry out ... next season.
3/26	Afternoon kite session with Jerry & Barry at the Ut Cay. Wicked cold water..."I can't feel my feet".	Bizzaro combo of wind, current, and chop. Barry's throwin' the back 360's like they're nothin'.
4/10	Kited WD on 12.0 with Holly, Jerry, Barry, Tyler, Phil, etc.	Hyper-lit in the gusts, flukey lulls,... but sunny!  Smiles all 'round :-)
4/19	Windsurfed WD with Matt E, PK, Suzie, Holly, Bill G, etc. Solid 5.something wind, except in the lulls.	Des tries her "new" 5.2 Ezzy. Thanks to Jerry for training the sail. It's well behaved and hasn't peed on the carpet...yet.
4/21	Kited WD on the Slingy 18 and Brina Icon. Just enough to stay upwind.	Holly tries her new Gaaaastra, makes it look easy.
4/22	Kited with the Slingy 12 'till Des left work. Then we sailed together on 6.3 & 5.8.	Sunny & warm for April. First double play of the year.
4/30	Kited WD witht the 12 after "work". Des rode the JP 270 with the 5.8 Volcano.	Nice 'n warm. No booties. Santi shows up and shows off.
5/1	Forest Beach, kiting on the 12 again. Barry and Jerry dangled with me,  Des joined with Janice to represent the sport of windsurfing.	Lotsa fun on a Saturday. Janice's glitter-sail takes the prize for the Spectacular Display Showdown.
5/2	Mixed doubles windsurfing team at WD; Des on the 5.8 (again) and I on the 6.3.	Low tide, all by ourselves, high-speed drag racing. "The Fast and the Furless" (we're wearing wetsuits).
5/5	Afternoon session at Chappy. Tim and Holly kited with me. Des sailed the 5.8.	Choppy, gusty and a bit gloomy--your typical day at crappy.
5/11	Sneak sesh at WD. Flukey wind with the big Sling.	Why does the board keep falling off my feet? Oh, the footstraps are on backward...
5/15	WD day: 6.3 sailing 'til noon. Wind dies for lunch break, then back out on the big kite for low tide flat water sesh.	Sailed with Jerry on his 12 meter in the morning. Fritz and Des were on the water in the late afternoon. First day of the year for a big crowd at the beach.
5/18	18 meter kite at the cut in a gusty NE wind.	Barry and I played on the flats behind the sandbar. The occasional ocean swell made it through to set up a perfect launch pad.
5/25	After school session at Waq bay. 12 kite in gusty wind.	The whole kite-gang was there. Jim, Holly, Tyler, Nevin, Peter,...
5/29	Corporation Beach! 6.3 and 5.8 sails for Luke and Des. Mellow for corp, but good.	Peter, John Grady, Paul F., Martha and Bill were all out.
5/30	Chapin in the am. Kiting with the 18 Slingshot for Luke. A ride on the JP 270 & 6.3 for Des.	Wind gave out we packed up and rested up for round two.
5/30	Forest in the pm. We were on our JP's with 5.8 and 5.2.	Nice chop to hop. We had the place to ourselves.
6/2	Kited Forest with the big chute.	Jerry and Barry were flying too.  They were smart and knew to come in before the wind died completely. I'm an idiot.
6/4	Another "date-session" at Forest with just Des and Luke sailing.	Better wind than forecasted....go figure.
6/6	Kited the cut. Started with the big kite. Pulled the trigger and landed on the lighthouse. Climbed down, then switched to the small kite.	Gloomy and stormy, but we had quite the kite-gang out. Jochem wraps his lines around Barry's and cuts one. Barry can't seem to fly with three out of four?
6/7	Outer beach surf session with Barry and John Leach. Head high and clean.	First day of the year for the surfboard, but it seemed to remember how to pearl just fine.
6/8	Kited Waq Bay on the 18.	Jim and his other partner, Jim, were there to enjoy the gusts. Hey, at least the water was flat and warm...
6/9	Windsurfed WD with Des. Solid-to-overpowered on the 6.3/5.8.	Mike and Chrissy (from Long-Gylin) were there and left us with an "new" 5.9 to replace our aging 5.8.
6/12	Surfed tthe outer beach with Des. Nice little waist-high waves.	Nice and warm...'till the sunset.
6/13	Beautiful day at Forest. Des on the 5.8 (one last time?) and Luke on the 12 kite.	Peter K and John Grady were sailing with Des. Barry, Holly, and Jerry were on their kites. Jerry and Barry hitch a ride back from the cut...cheaters.
6/21	Sailed Forest on the 5.0 and smaller JP. Des was handling the 5.2 on her 8'3".	We made the drive from PA and arrived at the parking lot just in time for the riff-raff to be clearing out. We had the water to ourselves. Nice sunset.
6/23	Surfed the outer beach, just beyond turnout 2. Took the Dick Brewer for a few rides.	Clean little swell with an offshore wind. The "big" sets were knee high, but gave some incredibly long rides to the right.
6/24	Kited at First Encounter Beach in Eastham with Jim. Big kites were the ticket to play.	Jim makes the smart call for location with his keen understanding of multivariable differential analysis...and he's throwin' down the wake-style.
6/26	Surfed the Outer Beach near turnout 3. We were on our long boards.	Barry was showin' us how it's done. The waves were small, but the water was like glass and the rides were longer than usual. Made friends with Curious George the harbor seal.
6/27	Kited with the 12 m, then switched to the 5.2 classic at Forest Beach. Des blazed with the 5.9, then the 5.2, then the 4.7, then the 4.7 again...it's time to go home honey!	It was the first "Summer at Forest" day with the hard core crew and the fair weather sailors all having a blast. Sunburns, broken gear, big smiles... perfect.
6/28	Kited from Hardings with the 12m Slingshot. Jim, Jerry and Barry joined in the fun.	Played in the swell near the beach. Sliced-up the slicks at Monomoy. Barry's showing the crowd a few moves...he's quite the ambassador!?
6/30	Sailed Forest with the North 5.9 and JP 270, then handed-off to Des. Switched sports to the 18 kite and played for a few more hours.	Janice, Jerry, Holly, Geoff, and Berry were all in attendence.
7/1	Enjoyed a "classic day" at WD as we sailed our 6.3 and 5.9 at low tide. High-speed drag racin' and burnin' the jibes on the inside.	Peter K and of the other WD regulars were out to enjoy the tropical warmth and exotic fauna (plovers).
7/3	it was the "Independence Day" at the outer beach with the whole gang. Surf was small...but glassy. We rode a few, then enjoyed the fire 'till the patrolman reminded us that it was "last call".	Entertained the seals with a private fireworks display. Just imagine what they're writing in their log about that day...
7/7	Early am surf session at turnout 3 on the Dick Brewer. Sunny, glassy and thigh to waist high rides.	The green heads are here! Bring the Bounce Fabric Sheets next time.
7/9	Windsurfed Forest Beach; Des on the 5.2 Ezzy, me on the 5.9 North. Blasted over to Mono-maui and played in the little waves. The wind was a little flakey, so we set-out for home...	About a mile from Monomoy (and 2 miles from Forest) the wind went from 20 to nill in 2 minutes. We sat on our boards and waited for wind (or sharks) until Cap'n Barry, joined by Holly, Peter and Jerry motored to our location. Internal combustion rules! Thanks Barry.
7/10	Got right back on the horse at Forest! Des on the 6.3 North Volcano and Naish 8'11". Luke on the Slingshot 18 and Icon 140.	Jerry and Holly were out with us for the sunset session. Thanks to Jerry for the uneventful launch and land!
7/13	Windsurfed WD in an East wind. Luke on the 5.0 and JP 260, Des on the 4.7 and W&S 8'3".	Cool, rainy, and choppy; is this April? Good wavy conditions past the rock pile.
7/14	Surfed the outer beach at 2 with Barry. Used the Hotline in over-head-high, clean but unorganized swell.	I was dragging my hand in the water above my head...really...it felt that way. I think I got tubed?
7/15	Surfed with Barry and Harborman Tom at 2. First on the Stewart 7'6", then the Hotline.	Punched the timeclock at 5:42 am. Big, clean, and sweet. I wish I was better at this sport....
7/15	Kited Forest with the 12 Slingshot and 140 Icon. Des was cranking on the 5.9 Disco and JP 270.	The Monomoy flats were slick, but the wind was a little flukey out there. My first down-loop transition went off without a hitch...why didn't I try this before?
7/16	Another Forest day with the kite. Des repeats with the 5.9. Played in a couple inches of water on the flats...watch those fins.	Jay, Rod and I stay at the flats then reach back to Forest. Holly, Jerry, and Barry go downwind to the cut and hitch a ride back. Matt E. sailes to the cut, then sails upwind back to Forest. Showoff.
7/17	Surfed the outer beach at 2. Des on the Steward 7'6" and me on the Hotline.	The big swell was gone, but there were clean, waist-high sets rolling in. Beautiful day.
7/27	Nice little surf session at the outer beach #2.	Small, but ridable on the big board.
7/29	Surfed the outer beach at the point between 3 & 4.	Small swell, but fun. Day 50 of this log!
7/31	Sailed Forest Beach with Matt E. Des was on the 5.9, I had the 6.3. Beautiful day, nice windswell to play on.	Lotsa kites and sails on the water; lotsa fun.
8/1	Kited Forest with the big chute. Then joined Jerry, Angry, and Slow Timmy on an excursion.	Went form Forest, across to Monomoy, upwind to the South Beach cut, and then across to Whiteyville. Then a mad (overpowered) dash down to the cut. Still overpowered, we landed on the sand bar and swam to the heavily crowded beach. Called for the Fronteer taxi. Thanks Janice!
8/4	Surfed the outer beach at the point with Des, Matt E, Peter, and Katherine.	Nice shoulder waves. Des takes a fin and is on injured reserve for awhile.
8/6	Kited the outer beach (at the point between 3 & 4) with Holly. Barry stopped in for a minute during his downwinder from Nauset to the cut.	Still some swell working with the due North wind made for nice sideshore wave riding. Cold and cloudy; is this really August?
8/7	Surfed the outer beach at the point with the gang. Barry, Santi, Jochem, Peter, Jimmy C, Harbor Master Tom, and Matt E.	Matt and I finished the day with a sunset session as the waves really cleaned-up. Angry blows up the kite and shows how to do a Maui Launch from the top of the sand bluff to the water...well almost to the water...nice.
8/8	Kited Forest on the slingshot 12 with Holly, Geoff, and Barry. Peter and Matt E. were ripping it up on the classic gear.	Got off the water before the wind really came up (gusting to 35). Nice sunny day. Warm water.
8/9	Surfed at the point with Harbor Master Tom, Holly and Barry.	Decent shoulder-high faces with light off-shore wind. Thanks for the video work Holly!
8/10	Sunrise surf session at #2 with Barry and Harbor Master Tom.	Only waist-high but super-clean and fun.
8/10	Kited the afternoon at Forest on the 18 Slingshot. Holly was on her Gaastra 14.	It's another day in paradise.
8/12	Mini-down-winder on the 18 from Forest to Hardings with a stop in Flat-city. Jerry and Jim launched from Hardings.	Hyper-lit and lovin' it. Jimmy C is doing all kinds of toe-side flippy-spinny tricks. Jerry gives me the ride back to Forest...and runs down the beach to grab my kite bag!
8/13	Kited the cut with Jim, Jerry, and a few sea creature friends. Everyone was on their big kite since there was almost no wind at the beach...plenty of fog though.	The most memorable session ever! Water was slick, with little swell waves making it in past the big break. The fog reduced vis to about 50 yards; then the sun shines through the top. "We're kiting in heaven!"
8/14	Surfed the outer beach with the gang at the point. Matt, Peter, Barry, Jerry, and Jeff (Jerry's friend from the Vinyaaard).	Clean, shoulder-high and all ours (don't bother getting out there before 4:00 on a summer weekend). Jerry and Barry blow up their kites and rip-up some waves in the off-shore wind.
8/18	Kited Forest with Barry on our big kites. Lite wind, especially over at the flats where the current was working against us (going with the wind).	Not lit-up, but Getin' It Done.
8/19	Sailed at Forest on the 5.2 Ezzy and JP 260. Des rode the 8'3" W&S with the 4.7 Ezzy.	Good day with lots o' friends out. Nice little swell breaking on the sand bars.
8/20	Kited with the 18 at Forest with Holly and Jochem. Des sailed the 6.3 and JP 270.	Jochem makes it all look so easy (I'm sure there's something that guy can't do well...maybe sing?). I did a sweet little wake-style 720, shot under my kite after landing, and crashed it. One bladder repair later and it's all good.
8/22	Headed to the outer beach with the Moyers and Dawson Guzik. A perfect day for surfing, boogie boarding, skim boarding, and flying (toy) kites.	Barry and Kyle were there to join in the fun. Great day.
8/23	Kited and then windsurfed at Forest Beach.	Thanks for the catch and relaunch Jay! What a day!
9/1	Surfed the outer beach at the point with Des. Nice clean swell (the first from Frances).	Nothing like watching the sunset over the dunes as you catch the last wave of the day...
9/3	Surfed the outer beach with Des, Matt, and Maria.	Maria was on the Bic 10' for her first lesson. Then she paddles right out into the shoulder-high breaking waves to catch a few rides!
9/4	Surfed the outer beach at the point with Des, Matt, and Barry.	Amazing waves. Light offshore wind. With long, clean shoulder-high swell thanks to Hurricane Frances.
9/5	Kited the Pleasant Bay side of the outer beach at turnout 7 with Jay.	Weird East wind with current made it impossible to stay upwind. At least it was slick, shallow and warm.
9/6	Surfed the outer beach at the point with Jay, Jane, Jayson, and Des. A little choppy, but the swell was still under there if you're patient.	Everybody's out there with boards of all types. Lotsa' grins. Jayson builds a sand pyramid and sphinx (with a little help from dad).
9/9	Windsurfed WD with Des. 5.0 sails in shoulder-high breaking swells out at the rock pile.	Classic day.
9/12	Surfed the outer beach at the point. Des on the Stewart, I on the "new" Bic 10' nose-rider.	The whole crew was there having a blast on waist-high lefts. Lotsa' party waves.
9/17	Kited WD on the 18 Slingshot. Des was ripping around on the 6.3 and Naish 8'11".	Easy-going day. Good for trying and refining the new tricks.
9/19	Sailed Bayview with the Ezzy 4.7 (Des on the 4.2). Shoulder to over-head-high breakers on the outside.	Sunny, beautiful day; great for video-taping. A lot of the usual supsects and a few outta' towners.
9/23	Surfed the outer beach at the secret spot (near 7).	Des and Holly have a close encounter with Whitey's friendly cousin, a basking shark. Riiight...a basking shark...
9/24	Surfed the outer beach at the point.	The big stuff is starting to roll in thanks to Hurricane Jeanne. Head-high sets with decent lefts. Matt, Barry, Des and Bill G. are on hand for the action.
9/25	Surfed the Outer Beach at the point...again.  A tad bit windy and choppy, but waves were great!  Head high sets....	Surfed with Matt, Jen, and Tom.  Des on her 7'6" Stewart...
9/25	Ditched Mattoo and went to WD to catch some wind!  Luke on his 12 kite and Des on the 5.9 and 90 liter board.  Voodoo chop and flat, but a great way to end the day!	Sailed with everyone!  Jen, Tom, Liz, Janice, Jerry, Fritz, Victoria.....
9/26	Surfed the outer beach at the point...again. Waist to chest-high waves in sets made for some nice, long, fun rides.	Barry, Kyle, Matt, Malea, Paul, Jochem and Maria were all spashing one way or another. Gretch enjoyed a summer-like day at the beach. Stunning moon-rise/sunset scene.

10/28	Kited the Cut with Barry and Holly. The 18 m was the call again. One huge jump stands out with the double lofting action of a well-timed gust.	Day 95 of this log.
10/30	Kited the Cut on the 12 m Slingshot. Holly, Jerry, Barry, Jim, and Jochem were throwing it down with the seals.	Went 'till almost dark; getting every bit of the last minute of daylight savings time.
10/31	Kited Hardings with the 12m Slingshot. Des was tearing in up on the North 5.9 and JP 270 (a big rig compared to the last several weeks).	Jerry and I stayed close to shore, Jim and the downwind crew went to the Monomoy flats. I haven't seen the wind shut-down quite like that. But hey, swimming's good exercise too.
11/3	Kited at Chappy with the 12m Slingshot. Not too choppy, but the gusty wind was a bit over the top...	Thanks for the launch and land Tim!
11/6	Windsurfed Forest with Des, Jen and Tom. Rode the North Voodoo 5.0 and JP 260. Des was dialed on the Ezzy 4.7.	Sunny and warm. Dinner at the Beacon afterward...seared tuna with ginger...hmmm.
11/7	Another sunny day at Forest--this time I flew the 12 kite. Des was showing the speed with the North 5.9 and JP 270. Jen was out on her Ezzy 5.8, Tom helped us with the rigging, launching, and landing.	Big smiles. Still feels like fall...late fall.   Hundred day milestone!
11/11	Kited Hardings with Barry and Holly. Holly was flying the 9 m; Barry the 9 m; and a me hanging on (for dear, stupid life) to my 12 m kite.	Wierd wind for a SW; gusty, cloudy, foggy. But the flats were slick city.
11/14	Kited Chapin with the 12 m Slingshot. Phil, Jochem, Jerry, etc.	Cold (42 degrees F) and sunny. Flat on the inside, shoulder-high waves on the outside. Jerry, Jochem and I ducked into the marsh for some airboat-style tricks.
11/24	Kited the cut on the 12m slingshot with Barry and Jerry.	The wind was on! Wearing the full winter attire. Feeling toasty.
11/28	Windsurfed the Cut with Peter, Jerry, and Paul. The Ezzy 4.2 and JP 260 were the call.	Air temp 50, water temp 45, average wind speed 30. Ripping it up with the gang...priceless.
12/23	Tried kiting in the pond at WD--12m was way too lifty. Switched to the other sport in the sound with the JP 260 and Ezzy 4.7. Des shows up and steals my rig for a quick sesh.	Thanks Geoff for catching my kite. Nice holiday session at the rockpile with Jerry gettin' it done on the classic. Latest calendar windsurf adventure for Des.
