The engines pictured on these pages are working scale models of late 17th and early 18th century atmospheric engines.
They work on the principle of atmospheric pressure working against a vacuum created by the rapid condensation of steam.
Through trial and error it was possible for me to design and build some of these engines, in approximately 1:12 scale,
and have them operate as scale models of the originals.
I am also offering to sell these engines for those who may wish to have their own as conversation pieces, working
models of early industrial revolution prime movers, or laboratory demonstrators for education.
