Who is i?
Whelp now,
this is a *very* interesting question,
one i've been pondering for well over half a century!
The simplest answer is that
i am in a continual process of becoming--
evolving from my various past experiences
while simultaneously
i am being evoked from my multitudinous futures.
Where this multitude of intersecting variables connect,
moment by changing moment,
is who i am perceived
by you
to be.
See,
that's why
i'm beginning to trudge on down
the cyberway of this little poetics project--
as i connect to you through my poetry,
you reflect yourself back to me,
thereby creating an instance in which
i may perceive
in your perception of me
more of myself
more fully.
Neato, isn't it, don'cha think?
How to fully be,
we must connect and perceive each other
through the other's perception.
Ya see,
like the sound of the falling tree
deep in an empty forest
not heard by any being,
perhaps i do not exist
except as i am perceived
by some other being, you.
Although it appears
that you
are separate
from whatever constitutes an i of myself,
in truth
you may be
just another manifestation of the totality of all
of myself,
that has been in hiding from myself, so to speak,
and now is revealing zirself to me.
*Any i can never know zirself in a
vacuum!*
Unless some you perceives some i
and mirrors to that i feedback
as to how you perceive that i of me to be,
i am lost in a monochrome vacuum
of narcissistic self,
twisting slowly
in an empty wind
silently screaming
in a deafening darkness
of totally stark
oblivion
Maybe,
that's why
the GOD,
who-whatever prime/final cause
IT is,
created
the you of me
and the me of you,
so that IT could know
Itself
as you and me
connecting,
and thereby,
more fully more perfectly more completely
"Know ITself!"
Whaddathink?
Don't tarry, get on back now to poetics
