I'm Stacie.  You may know me by another name.  We won't quibble about that.

I read, write, and study sf and fantasy fiction.  I have a Master's degree in English Literature; I am now working on a doctorate in the same field, specializing in Nineteenth-century British Literature , Modern British SF&F, and Jane Austen.

My specialty is British Literature, particularly contemporary fantasy, but I have enduring interests in Ernest Hemingway and Emily Dickinson. My most acute interests are in ethics and literature,  particularly in Terry Pratchett's Discworld and Joss Whedon's Buffyverse.

I collect swords and whips, own a set of Roman armor, practice Aikido, and am considered by the United States Navy to be an expert with the Colt .45 caliber 1911A1 semi-automatic pistol.  I am otherwise mostly harmless.
