A
A journal entry in her China Diaries has always convinced pilot Stephen
Cannon that Anna, his White Russian mother, abandoned him at birth. Now, after fifty-three years, missing journals turn up,
and as Stephen becomes immersed into Anna’s nineteen-thirties world of love, betrayal, espionage and war, the diaries
reveal instead a heroine of Nanking struggling to save her family. Beset by a Japanese ultra
