| Jerry was a crewman of an LCM that made a number of landings during the Normandie invasion, He received the Silver Star for his actions in saving the lives of infantrymen whose landing craft was hit by enemy fire, Dever got a number of them out of the sea and into his LCM and back to his A.P.A. |
