8/16/08 Webmasters Note: Some how Electricians Mate James was left off the ship's roster for the last 60 some years. This over-sight has been corrected by his son Reed James. I quote below from an email from Mr. James regarding the photo above.
"The old salt is my late father Ernest Bayliss JAMES who served on the LST-920 from Norfolk to Pusan, Korea. He was an electricians mate and is in Lt. Don Reed's photo album. He is in the photo of the engineers in Okinawa. Check the old guy kneeling behind the one identified as Earl Lamb. The 2nd guy in that row in the photo on page 5 (last page). I don't know how his and Ray Joliff's (spelling could be off) names might have been omitted. I think Ray was a signalman. They exchanged Christmas cards for a few years until Ray crashed an airplane in the Burbank Ca. area. George Yoho (on the roster) visited us in St. Joseph, MO on his way to the west coast a couple of years after their discharge. Pop was born in 1906 and might have been older than the Skipper. The day he was sworn in at 10:00 they dropped the draft maximum age back to 34 at 12:00. He heard the announcement while in a chow line and skipped eating to go see if he was still going. He went. Will dig around for more info for your site."
