The music by the Gomnes family at Hole, Rimgerite, was an accepted thing all through the 19th century and much of the 20th. The musical environment which developed here was an exceptional thing and one can wonder what started the whole thing. There are few sources of information from the earliest time but a few older people still remember and the DT*BB (newspaper) was lucky enough to talk to relatives old enough to have actually spoken with some of the old musicians
