| Carl took a trip back to his native Sweden in the winter of 1925. It was shortly afterward that he became ill. Whether he had a stoke or MS is unknown. The care of the ranch passed to the older sons. Bertha cared for Carl until the day he died. Her selfless devotion to her husband never failed. And after he was gone, she only regretted she could not continue to see to his needs. |
