Once again, my favorite Demon Enabler has instigated a bout of startitis at
AuntyNin's place. First it was the MmarioMmystery shawl, which has some very ... um ... interesting ... techniques.
Now it's his latest creation, called "Ceremonial Circles" that has taken pride of place at the Knitting Throne. Someday
I'll learn how to resist these impulses, really I will! (... and if you believe that one ...)
Aside from rampant startitis, the unexpected keeps happening. A few days ago, one of my favorite
lamps took a nosedive, leaving shards of its glass shade lurking in the living room carpet. Even six visits from
the vacuum cleaner later, I'm still seeing little glints in that area. Yet another validation of my hatred of wall-to-wall
carpeting.
The urge to travel is rising up and making itself felt as well; there's a good chance that I'll
give in to it sometime in the next few months, and schedule myself some kind of trip. Perhaps it's time for another
of my notorious train trips, perhaps something else. Finishing the tax returns will give me some hint as to what will
fit within the budget; there's another reason for doing it as soon as all the documents have arrived.
The Knitting Throne is calling, so I'll post this and return to my absorption with "Ceremonial Circles"
for the rest of the evening.
Happy knitting, all!
Another year gone... hardly seems possible. Let's hope that 2010 is less ... um ...
eventful ... than 2009 turned out to be. I'm not sure I could handle another year with as many surprises as last year
provided.
Looking around the Knittng Throne, I see that there are only two projects actively on the needles, Innabun and a sock. What's wrong with this picture? Well, that's
several fewer projects than normal for me. You know what this means, don't you? I'm going to be forced to
cast on at least a couple of new projects. (Hand to forehead) Oh, the tragedy of it!
Lucky for me, Mmario's Mmystery shawl project starts today, and there's a huge stack of other patterns
that have been clamoriing for attention, so I have lots of choices. There's also a healthy stash of both lace and sock
yarns tucked away in the yarn dresser, plus one sweater's worth of dk weight wool. So... do I want to start more
lace, or more socks, or a sweater, or maybe something else?
Decisions, decisions...
