Constitution

Article I: Name

This organization shall be known as the Loveland Repeater Association: L.R.A.


Article II: Duration

This organization shall have perpetual existence.


Article III: Purpose

A. To provide emergency communications as needed in the public interest.

B. To fulfill the needs of its membership for local autopatch facilities.

C. To promote fellowship in amateur radio through diligent efforts to adhere to Federal Communications Commission (FCC) rules and regulations and the bounds of good taste.

D. To provide for a self supporting and self-perpetuating bond of common purpose amongst its membership.

E. To promote activities of an unspecified nature of interest to the membership not necessarily limited to amateur radio but not distracting from the above mentioned purposes.


Article IV: Classes of Membership

A. Full - conveys all privileges of membership; commences upon payment of dues; must be licensed amateur radio operators; full voting privileges.

B. Family - licensed amateur who is an immediate relative of a full member and living in the same household; no voting privileges.


Article V: Officers

A. President, Vice President, Secretary/Treasurer: office and duties as customary; and such others as may be deemed necessary by the membership.

B. Must be full members of this organization.

C. Must be elected at regular intervals by full members.

D. At least one officer must preside at any one of the organization's business meetings.


Article VI: Meetings

Regular business meetings will be scheduled for all members and invited guests to attend. A majority is defined as at least fifty-one (51) percent of the members either present or voting by approved proxy. A quorum is defined as ten (10) percent of the voting members present or six (6) members plus presiding officer(s), whichever is greater. If a quorum is not present, no voting may be done.


Article VII: Amendments

The Constitution may be amended by a three-fourths (3/4) affirmative vote of members present at a business meeting. The proposed amendment must be introduced at a regular business meeting and voted on at the next regular business meeting. The proposal must be presented in written form and written such that no negative option is permitted.
