What Sets Paul Apart

Do you know much about the inner workings of 3D animation and visual effects? Well, neither do I. But that hasn't stopped me from becoming one of the best writers around to cover this fascinating yet highly technical field. You see, there are three aspects of my personal work ethic that set me apart. I call them my three know-hows. 1) I know how to arrange complicated material or storylines so that they are manageable. 2) I know how to interview well and write well. 3) I know how to make deadlines. There are many writers who can do one or two of these, but only those who can consistently hit on all three will make it as freelancers. That's why I'm not afraid to venture into other areas, either known or unknown, and tackle the most complicated assignments.

Oh, and one more thing about my personal philosophy. My favorite quote is from the song "Hands" by Jewel: "In the end, only kindness matters."

- Creative Fiction...

POLES APART: Bored and frustrated with her life of drudgery, Santa's wife takes off with a traveling salesman and Santa loses his cool - which is hard to do at the North Pole. It's kind of like "Married to the Mob," only the mob is Santa and his elves. Set to the music from the Beatles' HELP.

LOST CLAUS: "Guess who's coming to town this Christmas...for therapy?" In a large city that seems bent on banning fairy tales and fantasies, a young boy struggles to hold on to his, wishing that Santa Claus will bring his separated parents together. WRECK THE HALLS: It's "Animal House" during Christmas Break. The guys at Pi Upsilon decide to stay at their frat over the break and party non-stop right through Christmas and New Year's.

ROOT OF ALL EVIL: "What truly lies beneath Stonehenge?" A supernatural thriller (a novel & Nicholl's semifinal screenplay) that can best be described as Stephen King meets Dan Brown. REBELLION: Period Drama, Semifinalist, Chesterfield F. P., Carl Sauter Memorial Competition. From 1861-62, President Lincoln's greatest concern was not the Confederate Army but the cunning woman and her 8 year-old daughter who led the largest spy ring in U.S. history. Based on the true story of Rose O'Neil Greenhow.

YEAR OF BLOOD: A Period Adventure-Drama. Adapted from Victor Hugo's Ninety-Three, a masterpiece of fervor, irony and conflict. An aristocrat leads a peasant army against his nephew's regiment of revolutionaries in a heroic struggle to win France. It's Victor Hugo at his very best.

DEAD QUIET:"Beneath the deadly silence lies an unspeakable evil." Misguided by an intense occultism, an overbearing mother prods her daughter into achieving artistic success, only to have a dark secret from years ago surface, traumatizing her daughter and turning her into an instrument of insatiable vengeance.
