Smokey Robinson Babyface Babyface is a great songwriter, producer and singer, just as Smokey Robinson is. Babyface has already proven himself.
Teddy Pendergrass Miles Jaye Miles has a strong voice like Teddy, but he does not have Gamble and Huff and that will make all the difference in the world.   
David Ruffin Johnny Gill This really isn't fair to Johnny because David Ruffin was arguably the greatest lead singer of the classic soul era.   
Marvin Gaye Maxwell Ditto: This really isn't fair to Maxwell, but he is smooth like Marvin, but will never have the writing skills of the great Marvin Gaye.  
The Four Tops Boys II Men Boys II Men -  has the same style of the Four Tops, but they are not of the same quality of the Four Tops.  I have one question: what will Boys II Men call themselves in 20 years?  
The O'Jays Jodici They have a one-two-punch like the O'Jays, but they will never have the class of the Mighty O'Jays.   
Lakeside Mint Condition Mint Condition is a very good young band with plenty of good qualities, but they lack the overall versatility of Lakeside.    
Diana Ross Whitney Houston Whitney is Diana Ross all over again, and that is not a bad thing. 
Gladys Knight Regina Belle Regina is soulful like Gladys, but she will come up short. 
The Temptations New Edition New Edition has the steps of Blue Magic, the Temptations and The Dramatics; and they have three very good singer, but they too will come up short.  There are not enough good songs for them to sing.  
Leroy Hutson Eric Benet Eric has a smooth voice like Leroy Hutson, but where are the great songs?
Sly Stone Prince (is that is name this year?) Sly was a one-of-a-kind artist, just as Prince is today, too bad Sly has not received the credit that is due to him.  
Lenny Williams Rahsaan Patterson Lenny is still around, but Rahsaan is about to take his title.   
Smith Connection After 7 The Smith Connection had a very smooth sound, After 7 has a smooth sound too.
Millie Jackson Little K Nasty, nasty, nasty, nothing more to say.
