Alabama Weather in November

There's blizzard-like conditions on the plains
and ski-slopes open in the west, large bands
of snow across their local radars and
it's about time, Alabamans.
Knee-deep drifts, freezing rain and ice storms
are all out there. They haven't any pools
there. Nothing remains flat and passable,
neither highways nor roads. They aren't informed
in rural areas, because the power's out.
It's sad—on television, not outside
our windows. We don't need a food-drive
just yet, or a "Musée des Beaux Arts."
But it's still there, not here: unfortunate,
inclement, inopportune, importunate.
