Asymmetry

Incompleteness is good

Asymmetry is interesting

Imperfection=chance

The Three Tenets of Japanese Beauty

along the river

        desolate in summer

currents ebb

and flow

      alone. Rocks

sun themselves

so singularly

     that they offer

no use

at all

even as stepping stones.

logs, trees

the occasional

    shopping cart

poke

up

at obtuse

   (or is it obscene?)

    angles, causing

slow-working water

to twist

                   and bend

just

to make ends

meet, while down-stream

pools wait

        hat-

in-hand

down at the bottom

of falls

patiently

patiently

waiting

          for whatever

silt

the river

has collected

to perhaps drop

off

       or deposit C.O.D.

around

the next meander.
