The Town Square Café & Bakery
704 Hwy 165
Tellico Plains
423-253-2200

Located in downtown (HA!) Tellico Plains, the Town Square features home cooking and desserts designed to ruin any diet. Daily specials and pizza are available, too.

Peterson’s Seafood is, regretfully, no longer in business. Another restaurant, The Cherohala Café, is going into it’s place. More information will be posted as it becomes available.

Telihala Café
128 Bank St.
Tellico Plains
423-253-2880

Tellico Pizza
390 Cherohala Skyway
Tellico Plains
423-253-7081

They deliver and have a small dining room. They advertise a low-carb pizza, but I’ve never checked it out to see what it is.

Bistro on the River
1641 Cherohala Skyway
Tellico Plains
423-253-7800

Formerly Cardin’s Landing, the Bistro is now catering to a more refined crowd. They still have parking for bikes and still feature bb-q, but it’s served on focaccia bread with a wine list now.

Subway’s Sandwiches
Sav-A-Lot Shopping Center

It’s a Subway’s, usually open late on the weekend.

Tellico Beach Drive-In
1801 Cherohala Skyway
Tellico Plains
423-253-2606

If you want burgers, sloppy hot dogs with all the traditional Southern fixin’s (ya’ know – chili, slaw, mustard…), or ice cream, this is the place to be. Everything on the menu except the ice cream is either grilled or deep fried, giving your cardiologist a conniption fit. What he doesn’t know won’t hurt him, right?

Located right on the edge of the Tellico River, they don’t have a dining room. Everything is eaten at picnic table by the riverside while watching the kids in the water playing or looking for fish in the crystal clear river.

New for 2005, the Beach has added a small concrete parking area and a pavilion for bikes. Seems that everybody is getting in on the fad around here…

Hardee’s
127 Bank St.
Tellico Plains

It’s a Hardee’s, what more do you need to know?

Tellico Pride
141 Bank St.
Tellico Plains

Yes, this looks like a gas station. That’s because it is a BP gas station. It also features deli sandwiches, fried chicken, and other fried goodies, and salads. They have the usual soda pops and beer and such.

Shorty’s Market
104 Rafter Road
Tellico Plains

Yes, this is another sandwich shop masquerading as a gas station. This one is right at the driveway for the KOA campground, and sells deli style sandwiches and some very good breakfast biscuits in the mornings. It also sells beer. (That information provided exclusively for ZimBob.)

Cherohala Market
Cherohala Skyway

Yet another gas station with food, the Cherohala Market has burgers and deli sandwiches. It should be noted that while they do not sell beer, they did contact the local motorcyclists about how to create a motorcycle friendly store and made a reasonable attempt to put the main ideas into effect. Unfortunately for the guys, the bike wash manned by bra-less college girls in white t-shirts and bikini bottoms never became a reality.
