USS Peoria was a Tacoma Class Frigate converted to a weather ship. It is named for a city in central Illinois. She spent the war in the Med. and the Atlantic. In May of 1945 she was fitted as a weather ship and spent the next year in the North Atlantic. She was transferred to the Cuban Navy in 1947 as the Antonio Maceo. While in USN service she was in Measure 22.

The USS PEORIA WEATHER SHIP 1944 kit consists of a resin hull and parts, an etched brass fret & instructions. The kit is cast in a soft styrene-like gray resin. Two piece molds were used to make the castings, so there is no overpour to sand away. The kit assembles like an injection molded kit.
