Kit #08 - USS BIRMINGHAM TYPE SCOUT CRUISER 1909
The Birmingham kit finished as USS Salem by Bobbie Ciconni.
The parts are cast in a soft styrene-like gray resin.
The kit is complete and all the modeler need add is glue and paint.
The modeler can build the ship as either the Salem, Chester or Birmingham.
Salem is shown above.
A optional flying off platform and Eugene Ely's
Curtiss pusher biplane are provided to build the historic achievement
that marked the physical beginning of the U. S. Navy flying at Hampton
Roads, Virginia on November 10, 1910. This fine kit was the work of Phil Fuss.
