      The focus of John's painting is plein air painting. Coastal
and Marine paintings are his favorite subject. His loose brush stroke and impressionistic style infuse a drama and obvious affection for his subjects, California paintings.
 
 
   Landscapes are also an important part of John's portfolio. With a palette of crimsons, cobalts, and goldenrods, John depicts farmlands, vineyards, and country roads in his unique impressionistic style and plein air approach.
