The DEVILS WIND Story
when springs gentle breezes coils up and show s her fangs(c) 99 Lonster Music BMI SO- one morning in early May, I wake up around seven , like usual, get the kids off to school, make some coffee, sit down in front of the TV, put on CNN and there it is... A whole town demolished by a Tornado near Oklahoma City. Now, Ive never been to Oklahoma, but I find myself really, really, tears in the eyes, upset by the images on the tube. Just so you know, Ive survived two earthquakes in the San Fernando Valley without shedding a single tear. Yet, here I am transfixed by tornado rubble a thousand miles away. Go figure. No, go write a song! Yes, thats what I had to do, write a song. Just so you know, I am not the most prolific writer in the world. In fact, It can take weeks, months, even years for me to finish a song. BUT NOT THIS TIME! This song Devils Wind was writing itself. By noon I had the music and by dinner, almost all the words had come to me. It was like I had delivered the song. You know, like a baby. And just like a baby, this song has a life all its own. Its my job to raise it and send out into the world. Thats the beginning. I pick up the phone and call information in Tulsa. I need the RED CROSS number. For only .75 cents I can be connected! I hang up, then dial it myself. I figure, how hard can it be to produce a compilation CD? Long story, short. A piece of cake. NOT QUITE! This is the first CD Ive produced. I wish I could tell you it came together as easily and quickly as the title song Devils Wind. It would not have happened at all without the talent and support of the following individuals.
