Welcome to Longbow Log Afghanistan. You can follow my 2010 mission by viewing this photojournal. With each new entry, you can experience Afghanistan through my eyes.

In 2004, I redeployed from the deserts

of Iraq having served as a company

   commander and as the battalion

   intelligence/operations officer during

Operation Iraqi Freedom I.  The freedom

of the Iraqi people and our success in

providing it to them cannot yet be

measured, for time will tell if they have

   embraced their new found freedom

   and way of life.

Six years later, I find myself deployed in the midst of another

war.  Only this time, it is to ensure enduring freedom for the

people of Afghanistan.  Our efforts along with those of the

Afghani government are being challenged daily by an

organized movement, namely an insurgency.  I have faith

though that we (the nation of Afghanistan and coalition

forces) will prevail.  As for my small part to meet those ends,

I am on J3 (a joint or multi-service staff) as an aviation plans

and operations officer.  The intent of this website is to

provide you a glimpse into the daily lives of service

members serving in harm’s way – everyday Soldiers,

Marines, Airmen, and Sailors doing extraordinary things.
