A Camera Crew
On Thanksgiving Day, we had an ABC News crew (sorry Tom, they beat you to
it) here at our base to do a follow-up story with one of our pilot's. He was one of the first to return home for
the two-week leave program back in September. Here is a the camera crew conducting the interview and getting
some footage of our feast. 11/30/03

The Army's Newest SFC
I no longer have to refer to SFC Rob Dirk as Staff Sergeant Promotable (SSG(P))
because he is now a Sergeant First Class (SFC). This afternoon, he was promoted in a ceremony right outside our motor
pool. Congratulations goes out to the future Sergeant Major of the Army! 12/1/03

Dilapidated Hanger
Far off in some of the pictures you can see what look like bombed out buildings.
Much like the they did with the Iraqi runways, the Air Force did a great job of dropping bombs through all sorts of targets
including this soft-sided hangar. 12/2/03

Landing Strip
The great thing about helicopters is that you can land wherever you want. The only problem over here is knowing if the place you are landing is friendly or not.
When the war first started, one of the helicopters in my company had to make a precautionary landing on the highway.
It happened to be surrounded by an Army re-supply point. 12/3/03

Old Glory
When we first arrived in Kuwait back in March, one of the first things we
did was raise the American flag and the flag of the great state of Texas. A few days after they went up, they came down as
an order was issued saying the coalition forces are a liberating force not a conquering force; hence no flag flying. Pictured
is Chief Warrant Officer Three (CW3) Dennis Baker, the pilot who I flew with at the time. 12/4/04

Awesome Show
Our Air Force counterparts like to show off every now and then. Here
you see an A-10 "Warthog" releasing a series of flares. In actuality, he is not showing off at all. He is practicing
evasive maneuvers. 12/5/03

Renewal Of Life
Just when you thought the desert was void of any signs of life, we had three
days of intermittent rain. After the clouds cleared and the sun came out, small wisps of green grass sprouted everywhere.
We were surrounded by life the entire time. 12/6/03
