VTA will begin a new type of transit service to better meet the needs of neighborhoods by introducing ‘Community Bus’ routes. These routes will link neighborhoods to light rail stations or transit centers for simple transfers. This concept is to reduce the 40 foot fleet as 45 community buses are phased into service beginning July, 2007 and again January, 2008.
