After School Tutoring Program
Gateway High School, San Francisco, CA 2001 - 2008 I
am one of the co-founders of this award winning tutoring program. In addition to tutoring students both individually and in
small groups, I also worked behind the scenes to develop and strengthen its design in order to increase efficacy. Each year,
the Tutor Program assists over 300 with a wide variety of learning styles, including learning disabilities and differences,
helping them to succeed and move on to college.
High School Tutor & Study Coach

skills to inner-city public school students of all learning styles, including many with learning disabilities and differences.

with reception and other duties associated with running the main office.
Skyline MESA Science and Math Club

Coordinated outreach events to college bound high school students; designed,
organized and lead an engineering workshop for junior girl scouts.
Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society

offices involving community relations, outreach, and service.
Assisted chapter in acquiring several dozen regional and international recognitions
for the implementation of academic activities and programs, promotion of educational opportunities, and service to the surrounding
community.
This included:
- bringing microbiology workshops into disadvantaged middle school classrooms (training / leading teams presenting
workshops; preparing materials for lab exercises)
- fundraising to benefit nonprofit organizations (food banks, Red Cross, American Cancer Society, Books
for Africa, etc.)
- training over a dozen new officers
- arranging for guest speakers to present scholarly lectures on campus
