THE COOPERS BIO

Barbara and Lloyd are an exciting and talented singing/songwriting duo. They have performed separately and together for the past twenty years. Each has an extensive musical background and music is their life's work. They have written and produced four unique albums of their songs that have been received warmly wherever they perform. Their friendly and easy going delivery of standards, Broadway tunes and Top 40 hits, interspersed with their own original songs, make them favorites wherever they go.

Barbara was born and raised in New York and began her career while still in her teens. She performed extensively at all the major resorts in the Catskill and Pocono Mountains as well as at major clubs throughout the South, Midwest and on Caribbean Cruise Ships. She has opened for such stars as Joan Rivers, Phyllis Diller, Norm Crosby, Rodney Dangerfield, Jackie Mason and many others. She has also performed in musical theater at the Chateau Deville in such perennial favorites as South Pacific, Fiddler on the Roof, Peter Pan and Cinderella. She moved to California in 1981 where she began working at the famous Horn nightclub in Santa Monica. It was there that she met Lloyd and they began working together.

Lloyd began studying piano at the age of five and has been performing ever since. He began to work professionally in the capacity of musical director while still in high school and has since conducted for such organizations as The San Diego Civic Light Opera, The San Bernardino Civic Light Opera, Theatre Under the Stars, and Theater League. He has worked with such stars as Mel Tormé, John Davidson, Jack Jones, Debbie Reynolds, Donald O'Connor, Nancy Dussault and many others. He has worked as both conductor and composer in television and film for such shows as Matlock, Father Dowling, Perry Mason, and The Tonight Show starring Johnny Carson. He just recently appeared in an episode of "Caroline In The City" where he accompanied David Hyde Pierce. Lloyd has had the pleasure of working twice with Barbra Streisand.

Barbara and Lloyd married in 1983 and continued to pursue their separate careers while performing together intermittently. They have always enjoyed writing music and performing together and have decided to devote their full time to this now. They are unique in that they can perform as a duo with Barbara singing lead vocal and Lloyd singing backup and playing keyboards. However, with Lloyd's talent as an arranger/conductor they have also performed with up to a 30-piece orchestra. They recently performed at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas and as an opening act for Phyllis Diller.
