It's noted in the Strong Family Bible that George and Fred were twins,
but no birth date is given. If they were twins then there is a conflict with their estimated
birth dates. George died on 6 May 1896, supposedly at age 69 (giving an estimated birth date of
1827). According to the 1900 US Census for Gloucester Fred was born in March 1829.

The PANL church record of their marriage: "George Strong, bachelor, fisherman, Twillingate,
married Louisa Struckless, widow, Twillingate, Oct. 24, 1859 by Rev. Thomas Harris. Witnessed
by Mark Ridout, Alfred Ridout."
They were from Jenkins Cove (Twillingate). Lovell's 1871 Directory for Twillingate lists George
Strong, Fisherman.
Louisa, age 84, died on 21 April 1915 at Twillingate from Influenza. There is a PANL record that
says "George Strong died May 6, 1896 age 69 years buried at Hant's Cove".
The probate record for a George Strong of Twillingate listed in the
Acts Book, volume 6, folio 127, probated in 1907 mentions George James Strong of St. John's. I
believe this refers to his son James George Thomas Strong.
C.W. Strong's Memoirs: "My father, Ralph Frederick William Strong, was born at Twillingate,
Newfoundland, into a family of three sons and three daughters.
His father earned his living as a cooper.
... One brother left home young, headed West, and was never heard of again.
One sister married a man named White of Twillingate, where she settled down.
... Another sister, Fannie, married a man named LeDrew.
... The third sister married a man named Lethbridge and lived at an outport of the same name in
Bonivista Bay."
