Barbara Pederson reported, from Decks Awash Jan/Feb 1990: "Newhook who was
born in Trinity in 1783 and settled briefly at New Harbour around 1800 before
moving to Norman's Cove. ... Born at Trinity in 1789, he had 21 children from
two marriages. James and his brother Charles had a shipyard at New Harbour,
but they fell out and James moved to Norman's Cove where he was joined by
Thomas Moore of Dildo. ... Amelia Newhook, a daughter from James Newhook's
second marriage, married John Smith from Chance Cove at the same time."
