There is some confusion as to his birth information. He could have been born either in C a e r n a r v o n, Wales or Lancashire, England. Perhaps he was born in Wales and lived in England before coming to Newfoundland? Perhaps he was born in England and his ancestors were from Wales? Also, one source says he was born in 1780 and died in 1862, another says he was born in 1800 and died in 1882.

He was a Cooper.

They were married by F. H. Carrington in the presence of Eliza and Ann Lilly.

They are both buried at Nipper's Harbour.
