Their marriage record (PANL 89A) says they were both from Purcell's Harbour and were married at
Twillingate.
John H. Strong : "I can remember visiting Andrew and Elizabeth Anstey at Purcell's Harbour
with my mother when I was very young. Andrew was blind at that time and I can remember
leading him around by the hand. He had been a skilled craftsman and I have seen spinning
wheels he made. He also made the pews for the United Church (then Methodist) at Little
Harbour, where he was a very active member. ... After Andrew died she went to live with her
brother, Arthur."
Their tombstone in the United Church Cemetary at Little Harbour says:
"In Loving Memory of
Andrew Anstey
Born August 18, 1853, Died March 25, 1939
and
Elizabeth Anstey
Born September 11, 1855, Died June 18, 1951
Precious ones from us have gone
Voices we have heard are still
Their places vacant in our home
That never can be filled"
