The 1921 Census for Nippers Harbour says she was born in November 1863.

Amalie Tuffin reported "Per the Sun, Daniel married Emma Lenora Lucy Langdon on November 3, 1884 at Jackson's Cove at the same time that William Strong married her sister Sarah Ann Knight Langdon." This causes some confusion because Emma had a sister named Lenora Lucy (b. 3 Nov 1866).

Daniel's sister Rebecca married Dorman Giles on March 1, 1900 at Nippers Harbour. She was a 23 year old spinster and he was a 22 year old bachelor. Dorman, the son of William and Phoebe Giles, was a fisherman from Rogues Harbour.

Daniel's brother Ernest George married Alice Noble on November 20, 1901 at Nippers Harbour. He was a 28 year old bachelor and she was a 22 year old spinster. Alice was originally from Smiths Harbour.

Daniel's brother Edwin married Bella Taylor on November 29, 1905 at Nippers Harbour. He was 30 years old. She was the 22 year old daughter of Jesse TAYLOR & Sarah WHITE.
