H.L. Strong wrote: "Born at Twillingate 1849; William Strong and family moved to Little Bay Islands 9 years later", meaning when James Moores Strong was 9 years old, in 1858.

James' tombstone is in the United Church Cemetary at Little Bay Island.

The Encyclopedia of Newfoundland and Labrador, Little Bay Islands at http://enl.cuff.com/entry/55/5531.htm, "Joseph and James M. Strong also established a business in the early 1870s, which in 1889 (as Little Bay Island Packing Co.) became a general supplier for the inshore, French Shore and Labrador fisheries. Incorporated as James Strong Ltd. in 1923, it grew to be one of Newfoundland's largest fish-packing and exporting establishments by the 1940s, and was involved in the marketing of produce from around Notre Dame Bay, such as vegetables, meat, wood and lumber".

Amalie Lewis Tuffin reported "James was a Justice of the Peace for Little Bay Islands as of 1937".

The Encyclopedia of Newfoundland and Labrador has Ann listed as Murcell. Others have her listed as Annie Mursell. Barbara Pederson reported that this family from LBI, spelled their name with an "S".

The 1921 Census for Little Bay Island says Lydia was born in December 1859 at St. John's.
