Appleton, regardless of what the newspaper recorded. She was Ruth Prole from Indian Burying
Place, and I have her 1st marriage recorded, as well as the spelling of her 1st husband's
surname from his headstone at IBP when I was there in 1992;" ... "Ruth was baptised 22 June
1855 IBP age 9 months, married 15 March 1877 Betts Cove GB to John Apblett of Newport, Devon;
his headstone at IBP was erected by his brother Abraham. They had 1 son in the records, William
Robert Apblett born 5 February 1878 Betts Cove, whom your father said moved to Halifax NS."
