October 2006
Buffalo, NY, the home of the Buffalo Wing! The beautiful Shea's Buffalo was our home for the week. The audiences were great, as were the wings. Make sure to plan a day trip up to Niagara Falls or into Ontario to visit the wine country. And then there's the black midget drag queen!

Located just down the street from the theatre. I missed out on the visit to the club. But this is where the infamous black midget drag queen performs. Those who went had a blast!

Small, suite style rooms. Bedrooms separate from living area; microwaves and small fridges. There is a TGIFridays in the lobby which provides the room service. The staff was very nice. Breakfast served every day. I was very happy here. The rooms weren't fabulous, but they were good enough for our $50.00 rate.

The room, if I recall correctly, was nicely appointed and spacious. They had free apples in the lobby :), and there was a lobby bar/restaurant under a huge glass atrium. Because there was a crazy situation when we arrived with a large student group who had decimated the complimentary breakfast, the hotel gave us chits to use in the lobby restaurant for breakfast the whole week, which was great.

The place where Buffalo wings were created. You have to check it out. They sometimes have music as well. Open late after shows. You can walk or take the light rail from Shea's.

The wing platter was great! I don't eat this kind of food, but I loved it!

Spot Coffee

Buffalo, NY 14202

This was a popular coffee shop a few blocks from our hotel and the theatre. They also had an OK little menu if I recall correctly. Comfortable little place to hang out for a while.

Great! Liked it better than Starbucks across the street.

Small grocery store within walking distance of the hotels on Main. They have a prepared foods section. Good stuff to take back to heat up at the Comfort Suites

Steakhouse located in the Hyatt. I recall hearing good things about it, but am searching for some specific comments. Supposed to be the best steakhouse in Buffalo.

The steakhouse was good. Typical upscaleish steak house fare, excellent filet mignon.

Nice wine selection.

A short cab ride from the theatre area, this was a nice place for a massage. They are located on the upper floor of an old victorian house, and the rates are very reasonable. I paid $75.00 for a 90 minute massage. I saw the owner, Kathy, and she was very good; one of the better massages I've had in a long time.
