September 2006
Fall arrived as we got to Hartford. The Bushnell is a nice facility with a spacious backstage area and some renovated dressing rooms. The sound was difficult to adjust to, lots of echo, and the audience seemed so far away after being in the intimacy of the Hippodrome in Baltimore. And FYI, finding food for lunch on the weekends in the Downtown area is a little tough. Most of the restaurants aren't open on Sundays until dinnertime, if that.

Located just on the opposite side of Bushnell Park from the Bushnell Center. And right next to the Hartford train depot. Plenty of restaurants within walking distance. Rooms have fridges and microwaves. They also serve a continental breakfast daily. The room were clean, but small. Decent beds and bedding. Very nice staff. Small fitness room and business center onsite. This wasn't a company housing choice, but one of our cast members got us an independent rate of $79.00 per night for five rooms.

Yuck! Dark, dirty, smelled like mold; although, the staff was nice.

Loved, loved, loved the food. Absolutely delicious! I recommend the Asian marinated seared tuna. Amazing!

I had the same thing. So good! (And the artichokes stuffed with crab meat.)

The pesto gnocchi was fantastic. I didn't actually order it, but I nibbled off of my my friends. Great restaurant.

Located on the other side if th park from the Bushnell. They have a nice menu with some interesting goodies on it. I, too, enjoyed the tuna. The steaks were good, and the "Pasta Elvis" was too amazing (and pretty rich). They also have a nice bar which stays open late after shows. Right next to the Holiday Inn Express.

I didn't eat in the main dining room, Max Downtown, but I did eat in the Tavern a couple of times. They have a $2.00 bar menu including a huge burger which is a pretty great deal. The bar menu is in effect from 4:00-6:00PM, but be warned, the staff gets a bit distracted as they set-up for the main dining room dinner hour. The first time I ate there it was terrific; the second time, not so much.

Great menu, such good food and atmosphere here. Willing to stay open .

Terrific place. I went here a couple of times. They have this nifty little fondue on the dinner menu, and an amazing Cobb salad all day. If you call ahead and let them know, they will stay open late for the Bushnell crowd.

A decent little spa in the Downtown area. Not too far from the theatre. They have full services: facials, manis/pedis, and massages. I had one gal who took care of me for both my massage and pedicure, and she was very good. Several of our cast members went here during the week.
